St. Mary hasn't had much luck against St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The St. Mary's Lancers will welcome the St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Marauders at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, St. Mary's lost to Jamestown on the road by a 90-73 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (72), the Lancers still had to take the loss.

St. Mary's might have lost, but man, Will Szablewski was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 35 points and 14 rebounds. The matchup was Szablewski's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Landon Patterson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists.
Even though they lost, St. Mary's smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute got the win against Health Sciences Charter on Monday by a conclusive 71-51. The Marauders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.
St. Mary's better keep an eye on Nate Blenman. He was instrumental in St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute's win, going 7 for 11 on his way to 19 points. With that strong performance, Blenman is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Gionni Zelasko, who posted four points along with six assists and six boards.
St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: St. Mary's has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 30.1 boards per game. However, it's not like St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
