Given Skidmore-Tynan's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Charlotte is ranked 1551st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Skidmore-Tynan to victory were Bennett Martinez and Cole Rivers. Martinez scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds, while Rivers scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. The matchup was Rivers' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexander Gonzalez, who scored 5 points along with 7 assists and 7 rebounds.
Skidmore-Tynan's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Charlotte, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
Skidmore-Tynan is on the road again on Thursday and play against Danbury at 8:30 p.m. on December 7th. As for Charlotte, they will face off against Natalia at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
