Basketball Recap: Southwest Skates Past Dublin with Ease

Southwest barely beat Dublin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Patriots blew past the Fighting Irish 100-49 on Friday. The contest marked the Patriots' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Southwest had a senior duo take command as Caron 'CJ' Howard shot 85% from the field on his way to 32 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals and Chase Dupree went 7-for-12 en route to 24 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Howard has scored all season. Alex Butts was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Southwest was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Southwest pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 79.1 points this season. As for Dublin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Southwest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 81-63 loss against Pebblebrook on the 13th. As for Dublin, they have also already played their next matchup, a 73-68 defeat against West Laurens on the 13th.
