Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Peabody

Trinity Christian Academy scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Peabody Golden Tide. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 76-56 to the Golden Tide when the teams met back in December of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zack Niven, who went 8-for-14 en route to 23 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gabe Lee, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Trinity Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Peabody, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Looking ahead, Trinity Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gibson County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will be up against the Pioneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 69.17 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Peabody, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Obion County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Tide will need to watch out since the Rebels have now posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
