The Robertsdale Golden Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They lost to Citronelle on the road by a decisive 59-45 margin. Robertsdale was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Despite the loss, Robertsdale saw an underclassman step up: Skyler Washington scored 18 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Washington scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kole Singler, who scored five points along with four steals and three blocks.
Robertsdale has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season. As for Citronelle, they pushed their record up to 6-13 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Robertsdale will take on the Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Chickasaw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Friday. As for Citronelle, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Gators at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st.
