Softball Recap: Glacier Takes Down Ranked Gallatin

Glacier faced Gallatin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wolfpack put the hurt on the Raptors with a sharp 18-2 victory. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Chloe Farrell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

At the plate, Nakiah Persinger was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Vivian, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Glacier kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.

Glacier's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Gallatin, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

Glacier wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-4 win against Butte on the 22nd. As for Gallatin, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-2 victory against Russell on the 22nd.
