The Porter's Chapel Academy Eagles and the Laurel Christian Lions squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Porter's Chapel Academy Eagles had to settle for second. They fell 61-50 to the Lions. Porter's Chapel Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
DJ White had a dynamite game for Laurel Christian, scoring 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White has scored all season. Alex Carmichael was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Porter's Chapel Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Laurel Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-15.
Porter's Chapel Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Laurel Christian is on the road again on Friday and plays Lamar Christian at 6:30 p.m. on February 9th. Lamar Christian will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Laurel Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
