The Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs and the Tombstone Yellow Jackets squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs had to settle for second. They fell 49-38 to the Yellow Jackets.
Despite the loss, Rancho Solano Prep still got an impressive performance from Allison Hamel, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Leading Tombstone to victory were Briella Schuller and Rachel Thursby. Schuller almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, while Thursby scored 15 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ed'Jerrica Spencer, who scored three points along with six steals.
Rancho Solano Prep's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Tombstone, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season.
Rancho Solano Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tombstone, they will head out on the road to challenge San Carlos at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a six-game winning streak alive.
