After a string of five wins, the Shekinah Christian Flames's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. Their rough 54-34 defeat to Columbus School for Girls might stick with them for a while. The matchup was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Shekinah Christian struggled afterwards.
Several Flames players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noe Wanty, who scored three points along with five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alinea Slabaugh, who scored eight points along with three blocks.
Shekinah Christian's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6. As for Columbus School for Girls, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shekinah Christian is on the road again on Friday and plays the Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on February 2nd. Madison Christian's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so the Flames' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Columbus School for Girls, they will head out on the road to challenge the Silver Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Ready will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
