For the second straight game, Pershing County will face off against Incline. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Highlanders at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pershing County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Pershing County barely beat Incline the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Highlanders with a sharp 17-1 victory on Thursday. While the Mustangs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Trenton Rhodes was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rhodes was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Ayden Montes looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Taylor Montes was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Houston Allen was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Pershing County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.
Incline is on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6. As for Pershing County, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Incline's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pershing County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .485.
