Legacy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joey Jewett, who picked up 39 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The Lightning also got a significant boost from Chase Combs, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.
Even if they lost, Legacy's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Joey Vaughan was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Legacy got some further help from Bobby Hyatt: he picked up a sack and made ten total tackles.
Mullen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cole Parsons led the charge by throwing for 270 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Dante Dupuch helped Parsons out on the ground, rushing for 136 yards.
Legacy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Mullen, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 3-4.
