The East Rockingham Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Broadway 35-7. East Rockingham lost against Broadway in their previous head to head back in February of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 35-20 score last time.
East Rockingham's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Damien Durrette, who picked up 94 receiving yards, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Durrette was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 67 yards.
East Rockingham has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Broadway, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
East Rockingham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Broadway will be playing at home against Harrisonburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harrisonburg is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
