The D DME Academy pushed their score all the way to 57 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 62-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jordan Christian Prep Sunshine. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as D came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Seahawks are ranked 462nd).
Jordan Christian Prep Sunshine's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was William Flores, who scored 16 points. Flores is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Stephen Bell was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
D has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 19-8 record this season. As for Jordan Christian Prep Sunshine, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
D will square off against the Crew at TBD on Sunday. Jordan Christian Prep Sunshine's road trip will continue as they head out to face the CPCA at 5:30 p.m. on February 1st. Central Pointe Christian Academy is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
