The Youngker Roughriders suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were beaten by Notre Dame Prep 80-30. Youngker was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 61-12.
When it comes to explaining why Youngker lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ytzel McClendon. Despite the final result, she scored ten points along with six rebounds. McClendon continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Notre Dame Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Mccracken, who scored 18 points along with five steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Mccracken posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayla Keefe, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Youngker's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Notre Dame Prep, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Youngker will take on Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Notre Dame Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Desert Mountain at 5:30 p.m. Desert Mountain is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
