The Tombstone Yellow Jackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Douglas on the road and fell 71-44.
Malachi Keller and Ben Boulay certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Keller scored 16 points, while Boulay scored 11 points. The matchup was Keller's eighth in a row with at least ten points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Douglas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Diego Lopez, who scored 13 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jassiel Maldonado, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Tombstone bumped their record down to 3-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Douglas, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Tombstone won't have much time to rest: their next game is against San Miguel at 9:00 a.m. on December 15th. San Miguel is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Douglas, they will square off against Benson at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday.
