Softball Recap: Pittsfield Wins Going Away Against Quincy

Pittsfield lost to Quincy back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. Pittsfield put the hurt on Quincy with a sharp 14-4 win.

Emma Wombles was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Wombles was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Taylor Peebles was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Torie Stambaugh was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Pittsfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Quincy only posted an OBP of .417.

The victory got Pittsfield back to even at 1-1. As for Quincy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Coming up, Pittsfield will face off against Augusta Southeastern at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Quincy, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Camp Point Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
