Buckholts is 0-5 against Round Top-Carmine since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Buckholts Badgers will head out on the road to face off against the Round Top-Carmine Cubs at 5:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Buckholts has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Round Top-Carmine will arrive with three straight wins.
Last Friday, Buckholts had to suffer through a rough 47-20 loss at the hands of McDade. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Buckholts in their matchups with McDade: they've now lost three in a row.
Even though Round Top-Carmine has not done well against Fayetteville recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Round Top-Carmine walked away with a 47-37 victory over Fayetteville.
Buckholts bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.0 points per game. As for Round Top-Carmine, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Buckholts was taken down by Round Top-Carmine 62-22 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Buckholts was down 40-7.
