Geneseo is 1-9 against Caledonia-Mumford since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will host the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Geneseo's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Lima Christian. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by eight runs or more this season.
Abigail Radesi was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Radesi was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run. That run marked the first that she has scored this season.
In other batting news, Paige Rossborough was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ganelli Rodriguez Tillett, who went 2-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one double.
Geneseo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Caledonia-Mumford posted their closest win since May 23, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Pavilion 12-11.
Like Geneseo, Caledonia-Mumford also got a great game from a two-way player: Kylie Padlick -Field. She tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Padlick -Field has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Colleen Talty and Audrey Padlick-Field did most of the damage at the plate: Talty went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Padlick-Field went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four RBI gave Talty a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mia Wilson, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Geneseo pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Caledonia-Mumford, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-3.
