Barrington is a perfect 10-0 against Hoffman Estates since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Fillies/Broncos will host the Hawks at 4:45 p.m. The timing is sure in Barrington's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Hoffman Estates has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Barrington was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Buffalo Grove on Friday. The Fillies/Broncos blew past the Bison 8-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Michael Audino looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jackson Roberts, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Gryzlo, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Hoffman Estates not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5th (when they won 13-2). They were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over Fenton. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Bison: they've now won three in a row.
Colin Karecki made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Karecki was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Luis Tobella was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Adrian Bello, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Hoffman Estates always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Barrington is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Hoffman Estates, their win bumped their record up to 6-14.
Barrington skirted past Hoffman Estates 8-7 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Fillies/Broncos repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
