The Live Oak Eagles put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 56-52 W over Springfield. Given Live Oak's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Springfield is ranked 175th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Springfield still got an impressive performance from Caden Dykes, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds. Dykes continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rowen Harris, who scored 10 points.
Live Oak's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Springfield, they bumped their record down to 4-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Live Oak will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Plaquemine at 6:00 p.m. Springfield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Albany at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th.
