Wawasee is 0-10 against Warsaw since December of 2014 but things could change on Saturday. The Wawasee Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Warsaw Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Wawasee is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Bethany Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Wawasee blew Bethany Christian out of the water with a 57-21 final score. That 36 point margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.

Wawasee can attribute much of their success to Mackenzie Hackleman, who went 9 of 18 en route to 22 points along with seven steals and six boards, and Olivia Horn, who posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The dominant performance gave Horn a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Wilkinson, who had four points and five steals.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Wawasee was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bethany Christian only posted four assists.
Meanwhile, Warsaw put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 65-50 victory over Columbia City.
Warsaw's win came from a few key players Wawasee will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Joslyn Bricker, who went 10 of 17 on her way to 26 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Zartman, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 15 points and three steals.
Wawasee pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.5 points per game. As for Warsaw, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Wawasee has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 21.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Warsaw struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Wawasee lost to Warsaw on the road by a decisive 56-39 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Wawasee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
