Baseball Recap: Apex Friendship Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Apex Friendship waltzed into their contest on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Panther Creek Catamounts. Considering the Patriots have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Caden Oxendine looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Connor Sousa was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Braden Bloom was another key player, earning two runs and two stolen bases.

Apex Friendship was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Panther Creek only posted a batting average of .071.

Apex Friendship's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Panther Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.

Apex Friendship will take on Green Hope at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Panther Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
