Even though the Angola Hornets scored an imposing 64 points on Saturday, the Northridge Raiders still came out on top. Northridge walked away with a 72-64 victory over Angola. Given Northridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Angola is ranked 328th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Angola's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dane Lantz, who scored 25 points. The match was Lantz's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Ryan Stuckey was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Northridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Angola, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-5.
Northridge will take on South Bend Riley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Bend Riley is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Angola, they will head out on the road to face off against Westview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
