The Davidson Academy Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Christ Presbyterian Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Davidson Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Christ Presbyterian Academy is ranked 17th).
Davidson Academy can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 54-10 victory over Goodpasture Christian. Davidson Academy pushed the score to 47-10 by the end of the third, a deficit Goodpasture Christian had no chance of recovering from.
Among those leading the charge was Caden Stroud, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Will Breece got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Christ Presbyterian Academy had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They took down Franklin Road Academy 24-7. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but Christ Presbyterian Academy was the (much) better team in the second half.
Rawls Patterson had a dynamite game for Christ Presbyterian Academy, rushing for 212 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Patterson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards.
The victory makes it two in a row for Davidson Academy and bumps their season record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 50 points. As for Christ Presbyterian Academy, their win was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as Davidson Academy and Christ Presbyterian Academy haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Davidson Academy commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.3 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Christ Presbyterian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
