It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Sussex Central Golden Knights can now relate to. They were dealt a 46-14 defeat at the hands of the Vikings on Friday. Sussex Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cape Henlopen apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October.
Sussex Central's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Malik Bell, who rushed for 126 yards, and Jajuan Sturgis who rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown.
Maurki James continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cape Henlopen, rushing for 191 yards and four touchdowns. James has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last eight times he's played.
Sussex Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Cape Henlopen, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Sussex Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cape Henlopen will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Salesianum at 7:00 p.m. on November 30th. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Salesianum: 15.5, Cape Henlopen: 15.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
