Baseball Recap: Louisburg's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Louisburg's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans by a score of 9-6. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 10-9 win the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Tanner Rigsbee made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). Rigsbee was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake Layton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The victory snapped Louisburg's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record. As for Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
