The Stanton County Trojans won the last time they faced the Syracuse Bulldogs, and things went their way on Friday too. Stanton County blew past Syracuse 45-19. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Stanton County.
Avery Scott continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. Scott is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lexy Martinez, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Stanton County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Syracuse, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stanton County will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Southwestern Heights on January 29th. As for Syracuse, they will face off against Wiley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
