After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ripley, Davenport was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Wellston Tigers as they made off with a 15-5 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Chase Mitchell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Brody Robinson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Davenport's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Wellston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

Davenport will venture away from home to face off against Meeker at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wellston, they will host Destiny Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
