While losing is never fun, Archbishop Carroll can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while Homestead is ranked 235th).
Despite the loss, Archbishop Carroll still got an impressive performance from Luka Vlahovic, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Angel Marquez, who scored 13 points.
Homestead's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Reed led the charge by scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds. Jeremiah Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Archbishop Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Homestead, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
Archbishop Carroll will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Dade Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 15th. Dade Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Homestead, Homestead and TERRA Environmental will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. TERRA Environmental has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 212 points over their last three contests.
