After a string of six wins, the Miami Beach Hi-Tides's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a serious blow against St. Thomas Aquinas, falling 85-36. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Miami Beach has scored all season.
St. Thomas Aquinas got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ayden (AJ) Ambrose out in front who scored 16 points along with five assists and four steals. Clarence Westbrook Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
Miami Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miami Beach will take on American at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Thomas Aquinas on the road again on Tuesday and play against Deerfield Beach at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Deerfield Beach has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
