Kennedy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Sylmar Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Kennedy gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Van Nuys as Kennedy made off with a 65-44 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Kennedy has posted since December 14, 2023.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Sylmar's strategy against San Fernando on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Sylmar blew San Fernando out of the water with a 89-48 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Sylmar had established a 35 point advantage.
Sylmar's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Nathan Lee, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Gustavo Lopez, who scored 17 points along with four steals and two blocks. Joseph Dickson, Jr was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight assists.
Kennedy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Sylmar, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Kennedy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-48 loss to Sylmar in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lopez, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 1 assist. Now that Kennedy knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
