Baseball Recap: Robinson Starts Season with Victory Against Dieterich

Robinson had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Dieterich Movin Maroons. The victory was some much needed relief for the Maroons as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

The team relied heavily on AJ Knoblett, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Reese Johnson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Dieterich's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Robinson will host Carmi-White County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Dieterich, they will be playing at home against Paris at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
