Vista del Lago had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They snuck past Tahquitz with a 12-6 victory.
Meanwhile,, Hemet couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 0-34 walloping at Chaparral hands.
Hemet's defeat took them down to 0-1 while Vista del Lago's triumph pulled them up to write [team] current record. A win for Hemet would reverse both their bad luck and Vista del Lago's good luck. We'll see if Hemet manages to pull off that tough task or if Vista del Lago keeps their momentum going instead.
