The Farmington Phoenix will face off against the Cyprus Pirates at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Farmington put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. They fell just short of Timpview by a score of 14-13. Even though they lost, the Phoenix's still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Farmington got a good showing from Bryson Brown, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
On the hitting side, Ryland Drollinger was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Dye, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Cyprus posted their closest win since April 18, 2025 on Thursday. They skirted past Murray 10-8.
HUMBERTO NAVA and BRODY DENSLEY did most of the damage at the plate: NAVA went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while DENSLEY went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases DENSLEY has posted since back in April of 2025. NOYKER VELASQUEZ was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
This is the second loss in a row for Farmington and nudges their season record down to 1-4. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Cyprus, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
