After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fort Yukon, the Birchwood Christian Warriors were happy to have found some success on Friday. They secured a 34-30 W over Non Varsity Tournament Opponent.
Leading Birchwood Christian to victory were Leia West and Kaytee Reich. West scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals, while Reich dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Reich has scored at least a third of Birchwood Christian's points.
The victory got Birchwood Christian back to even at 3-3. As for Non Varsity Tournament Opponent, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 31-124.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Birchwood Christian will challenge Lumen Christi on Tuesday. Non Varsity Tournament Opponent's road trip will continue as they head out to face Altamont at 9:00 a.m. on January 20th.
