The Alpaugh Buffalos''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Sierra 48-0. While losing is never fun, Alpaugh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Sierra is ranked tenth).
Among those leading the charge was Tanner Forrester, who rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Logan Kilbert, who picked up 76 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Alpaugh's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 Fresno Christian and 6-1 Pinewood (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 70% over those games). As for Sierra, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Alpaugh does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sierra will look to defend their home field on Friday against Orcutt Academy at 7:00 p.m.
