On Thursday, the East Lansing Trojans faced the Saline Hornets in a battle between two of the state's top teams. East Lansing claimed a resounding 74-45 win over Saline at home. East Lansing's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Cameron Hutson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jayce (JL) Branson, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
East Lansing's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Saline, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-1.
East Lansing and King will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. King has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 256 points over their last four contests. Saline's road trip will continue as they head out to face New Haven at 3:15 p.m. on December 29th. New Haven is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
