Even though The Cyril Pirates have not done well against the Alex Longhorns recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Cyril breezed by Alex at home to the tune of 64-36. The result was nothing new for Cyril, who have now won three matches by 28 points or more so far this season.
Raiden Mclemore had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 245 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also picked up 47 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nash Harman, who threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes.
Cyril has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Alex, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-5.
Cyril will square off against Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Wilson is ranked 29th, while Cyril is ranked 32nd). As for Alex, they will be playing at home against Waurika at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waurika comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
