Softball Recap: Windthorst Has No Trouble Against Seymour

Windthorst won the last time they faced Seymour and things went their way on Thursday too. The Trojans blew past the Panthers 15-1. The matchup marked the Trojans' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Jayln Benson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Benson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Camille Cabrera was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Catherine Hoff, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and four runs.

Windthorst always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.

Windthorst's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-4-1. As for Seymour, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windthorst will face off against Paradise at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Seymour, they will host Electra at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.29 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
