The Sarasota Sailors will take on the Auburndale Bloodhounds at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Sarasota is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.6 runs per game this season.
Sarasota's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Braden River as Sarasota made off with a 19-0 victory. The Sailors haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Ashlan Guengerich was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mady Pint, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Jade Hendrickson was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Sarasota always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Auburndale lost 7-1 to Lake Minneola on Tuesday. The Bloodhounds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ailenid Lozada spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Auburndale saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brylyn Miller, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That run was Miller's first of the season.
Auburndale's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Sarasota, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Auburndale's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sarasota has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .479.
