The Barr-Reeve Vikings extended their postseason success on Friday against the Springs Valley Blackhawks. They secured a 35-30 W over the Blackhawks. The win was all the more spectacular given Barr-Reeve's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Blackhawks are ranked 70th).
Barr-Reeve was led to victory by Ava B Carter and Hannah Bledsoe. B Carter scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Bledsoe scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Bledsoe has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Liv Emmons was another key contributor, scoring six points.
The win got Barr-Reeve back to even at 12-12. As for Springs Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-5.
Barr-Reeve won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Orleans is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. Springs Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
