Basketball Recap: Aledo Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Aledo won the last time they faced Southwest and things went their way on Thursday too. The Aledo Bearcats secured a 72-67 W over the Southwest Raiders. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Raiders are ranked 531st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Aledo pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.2 points per game. As for Southwest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Aledo will take on North Central Texas Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southwest, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Odessa at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
