The Park School of Buffalo Pioneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 86-45 loss at the hands of Nichols. While losing is never fun, The Park School of Buffalo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while Nichols is ranked 133rd).
The Park School of Buffalo lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Willy Kibowa Jr, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Kibowa Jr is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarrell Green, who scored seven points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Hezzy Hall, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds for Nichols. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hall has scored all season. Jakye Rainey was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
The Park School of Buffalo dropped their record down to 6-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Nichols, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Park School of Buffalo won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bishop Timon-St. Jude at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. Bishop Timon-St. Jude has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,030 points over their last 12 matches. As for Nichols, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Canisius at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Canisius will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
