On Thursday, the North Smithfield Northmen faced the Toll Gate Titans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. North Smithfield walked away with a 44-31 victory over Toll Gate. The win was nothing new for North Smithfield as they're now sitting on four straight.
Kate Zonin was nothing short of spectacular: she scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Bryson Murray was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
North Smithfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Toll Gate, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.
North Smithfield will head out on the road to face off against Burrillville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Toll Gate, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on February 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Rhode Island (Lincoln is ranked 17th, while Toll Gate is ranked 14th).
