Albion is 1-9 against Newfane since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Albion Purple Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Newfane Panthers at 6:30 p.m.
Two weeks ago, Albion came up short against Midlakes and fell 58-48.
Meanwhile, Newfane waltzed into their matchup Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Emerson Vo-Tech, posting a 57-22 victory at home. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Newfane has scored all year.
Newfane relied on the efforts of Ben Dickinson, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three blocks, and Brayden Seitz, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The match was Dickinson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Landon Braman, who scored eight points.
Albion's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Newfane, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.
Albion came up short against Newfane in their previous meeting back in February, falling 63-59. Thankfully for Albion, Evan Myers (who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
