St. Patrick-St. Vincent and Kennedy are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2018, but not for long. The Bruins will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Patrick-St. Vincent will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Richmond 62-0 on Friday. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bruins had established a 55-point advantage.
Dylan Santos continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 136 yards and three TDs. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelio Vigil, who picked up 66 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 20 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Vigil, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was St. Patrick-St. Vincent's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jaeden Burgstaller-Woody, Noah Soto, and Ethan Santos, who each picked up one sack apiece. Tyree Johnson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Kennedy earned a 30-20 victory over Hercules on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won four in a row.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent better keep an eye on Larry Caldwell. He was instrumental in Kennedy's win, rushing for 275 yards.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Kennedy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4-1.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent came out on top in a nail-biter against Kennedy in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 21-18. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
