The biggest upset of the week belonged to Milton, who defeated 52nd ranked Escambia, 24-21.
The Panthers moved up to 282 from 322 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 6A District 1. Milton climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Gators 24-21.
Gerald Bright was a passing and rushing force as Escambia fell to the Panthers. He completed 2 passes for 47 yards and also ran for 167 yards.
Daniel Smyers put up the best numbers through the air as Pace beat Pensacola. He finished with 7 completions for 109 yards and 1 touchdown. Smyers' favorite target this week was Jon Jon Martin, who caught 3 passes for 55 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Jadon Jones. The Washington star has 15 catches for 304 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Escambia takes on second place Pace. Last week, Willie Spears' team lost to Milton, while the Patriots beat the Tigers.
Next week's game between Pace and the Gators will feature a good passing match up as Smyers will test his arm against William Beasley's defensive ability. Pace's Smyers has recorded 587 yards and 4 touchdowns this year, while Escambia's Beasley has 6 interceptions to his name.
The league will see a high scoring game when the Patriots and the Gators face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Pace comes in having scored 186 this season, while Escambia has scored 301. The Patriots scored 20 points last week as they bested Pensacola.
Washington fell to Pine Forest 33-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
