Leesville has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Rayne Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Leesville will be strutting in after a victory while Rayne will be coming in after a defeat.
Leesville can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They blew past Eunice 48-24. The score was close at the half, but Leesville pulled away in the second half with 27 points.
Xavier Ford was his usual excellent self, rushing for 309 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Ford hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games.
Meanwhile, Rayne had to suffer through a rough 49-20 loss at the hands of DeRidder.
Leesville's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36 points. As for Rayne, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Everything came up roses for Leesville against Rayne in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 47-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Leesville since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
