If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Little River. On Friday they will take on Moundridge at 7:00 PM. Moundridge will need to watch out since Little River have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Last Friday, Little River put the finishing touches on their 6th blowout victory of the season. They took the matchup and then some with a 50-0 victory over St. John. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (44) and coasted on those for the victory.
Meanwhile, Moundridge came into their this week averaging 32.67 points per game, but Moundridge fell well short of that average, and it cost them. They were dealt a punishing 0-52 defeat at the hands of Central Plains. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Little River's win lifted them to 6-1 while Moundridge's loss dropped them down to 3-4. In their win, Little River relied heavily on senior Matt Dougherty, who rushed for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns. Moundridge will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
