It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Assumption Mustangs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 43-21 margin over Breaux Bridge. Winning may never get old, but Assumption sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Breaux Bridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Kelby Hypolite, who threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Coddie Noel, who picked up 97 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
